Kyoto Modern (patterned rush)
About this core
Rice-straw core. The traditional core of dried rice straw, compressed and stitched in Japan: a springy, natural feel. EU, UK and Switzerland: no quarantine conditions. USA: needs a USDA APHIS import permit. Australia and some other countries do not accept straw.
Thickness 55 mm or 60 mm. Straw mats are heavier than fiberboard mats, so sea freight is usually the better choice.
Good to know
- Every mat is made to your measurements, in 1 mm steps. Each mat in a room can be a different size.
- The price includes the border cloth (heri). Choose a pattern from our border collection.
- Production takes 3–4 weeks, depending on how busy our workshop is. Sea freight adds 6–8 weeks to the port; air courier about 1 week.
- We prepare export packing and the documents for customs and trade agreements.
